The National Championship (March 29, 1982)
In the 1982 NCAA Final Four against Patrick Ewing and Georgetown University. Jordan’s 18-foot jumper with 15 seconds left in the game helped North Carolina take a 63-62 lead, and Dean Smith won his first national championship after six Final Four appearances.
Prelude To A Dream (July 9, 1984)
Jordan scored 14 points in a game the collegiate team eventually won 97-82. He reunited with his 1984 USA teammates Ewing and Chris Mullin on the 1992 “Dream Team,” one of the greatest combinations of talent in basketball history.
God In Disguise (April 20, 1986)
In 1986, the Bulls went 30-52 and were the 8th seed against the mighty Celtics, who were on their way to their 16th NBA title.
An All-star Forever (Feb. 7, 1988)
Jordan leaped from the free throw line to beat Dominic “The Human Highlight Reel” Wilkins. A day later, he slammed 40 points on Magic Johnson and the Western All-Stars in front of his hometown crowd.
The Shot (May 7, 1989)
Jordan pushed Nance out of the game and took a pass from Sellers, with Errol panicking behind him. Jordan jumps laterally at the free throw line, waits for Elo to float by, seemingly hanging in the air forever, and then takes a shot on the way down.
Shootout At The Atl Corral (1990)
This challenge is a continuation of NBA 2K11, designed to showcase Wilkins and Jordan’s scoring talent and competition at the height of their careers. It does not recreate any of the games that took place.
Nice (March 28, 1990)
In 1990 in Chicago, Jordan slammed down 54 points in overtime against the Cavaliers to kick off the season. Four months later, they played another thrilling track and field game in Cleveland. Chicago won again in overtime, 117-113, with Jordan scoring 69 points on 23-of-37 shooting in 50 minutes on the court.
The Jordan Rules (May 26, 1990)
Chuck Daly’s “bad boy” Detroit Pistons made no apologies for their brutal game plan, which allowed Jordan to hit hard shots any time he broke through the basket. They became known as “The Jordan Rules”.
Showtime (June 2-12, 1991)
The highlight of the series came in Game 2, when Jordan made an incredible switch-handle layup, his 13th consecutive field goal of the night, and scored 33 points to lead all scorers. Jordan was the favorite to win the NBA Finals MVP, the first of his six seasons.
The Shrug (June 3, 1992)
He scored 35 points in the first half of the Bulls’ first game in their second consecutive NBA championship.
Double Nickel (March 18, 1995)
After sitting out a year in the minor leagues, Jordan returned to a listless Bulls team with a two-word statement, “I’m back.” After a four-game warm-up, he traveled to New York and the world’s most famous arena and contributed 55 points to the Knicks.
Game 6, NBA Finals (June 16, 1996)
This was not one of Jordan’s best games: 22 points on 5-of-19 shooting, five turnovers, and seven assists. In addition, the 72-win Bulls had a 3-0 series lead over Gary Payton and the Supersonics but lost focus in Games 4 and 5.
Game 5, NBA Finals (June 11, 1997)
Jordan scored a game-high 38 points, hitting a killer three; two days later, Chicago won its fifth NBA championship.
Passing The Torch (Dec. 17, 1997)
In the 2023 Jordan Challenge, Kobe Bryant and Jordan met again in the Bulls’ final season. In this early-season matchup, Kobe came off the bench and scored 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting. But Jordan slashed 36 points as the Bulls defeated big man O’Neal, who missed the game due to injury, 104-83.
Game 6, NBA Finals (June 14, 1998)
Jordan’s final shot for the Chicago Bulls, and the final shutout, defeating Brion Russell and the Jazz 87-86, came with 18 seconds left in the game when Jordan stole from Karl Malone.
